Wabash Pneumatic Vacuum Compression Molding Press

A new compression molding press featuring precision control of clamp force through a proportional pneumatic pressure control system has been introduced by WABASH MPI. Closed loop pressure control provides 50 lb. to 6,000 lb. force and requires only 100 psi compressed air source (typically available from in-plant system). The press is ideal for vacuum chamber compression molding of a variety of plastics and rubber requiring precise low pressure force control including testing, prototyping and production applications. It is very quiet operating and is ideal for clean room use (no hydraulics).

Fully programmable, computer-based controls dictate all operating parameters including temperature and pressure and provide for data storage. The press, Model PS3H-8-CLX, is equipped with integral vacuum chamber, 8" x 8" electrically heated (up to 650°F) and water cooled platens. It can be engineered with and without vacuum chamber, integral vacuum pump and water cooling. It is fundamentally a bench top design (shown with optional floor stand). Standard electrically heated platens are available in sizes to 18" x 18".
