GE Expands SHOWBIZ® HPL Line for ETC Source Four(TM) Fixtures

CLEVELAND - GE Lighting has expanded its SHOWBIZ® HPL line with five new lamps: the SHOWBIZ HPL750/LL in 230- and 240-volt, the SHOWBIZ HPL375/C in 115 volt, the SHOWBIZ HPL375/C/LL in 115 volt and the SHOWBIZ HPL550/C in 77 volt. The new lamps use GE's compressed-filament design, which enhances lighting system performance and maintenance in stage, studio, film, architectural and theatrical lighting applications that feature ETC Source Four(TM) fixtures.

Pairing GE's SHOWBIZ HPL lamps with Source Four fixtures instead of conventional 1KW ellipsoidal fixtures increases overall fixture efficiency. For example, the use of a SHOWBIZ HPL575 lamp improves efficiency by as much as 40 percent.

"We anticipate a lot of buzz over how these products will light up both performers and venues," says Gerry Schuh, manager of GE's SHOWBIZ products. "The optical system and specially designed compact filament array of the GE SHOWBIZ HPL lamps work in unison to raise the bar in terms of field smoothness, increased brightness and light pattern uniformity."

The SHOWBIZ HPL375/C/LL and HPL750/LL lamps provide color temperatures of 3050 degrees Kelvin, making them ideal solutions for long-life architectural lighting applications.

Each SHOWBIZ HPL lamp features an integrated, heat-sink base with chromised seal protection up to 500 degrees C. This exclusive design reduces seal temperatures, improves lamp durability, ensures proper lamp alignment and maximizes rated life. Humidity-resistant internal base assemblies on the SHOWBIZ HPL lamps defend against the nuisance of circuit tripping under both normal and humid operating conditions.

Hot-shock durability is aided by each SHOWBIZ HPL lamp's filament array and patented gas fill, which minimize the risk of arc-out during alignment and focusing.

Developed through the GE Six Sigma process, these five new SHOWBIZ HPL lamps fill out GE's full range of high-performance stage and studio lamps. Like every GE SHOWBIZ product, SHOWBIZ HPL lamps incorporate the latest lighting technologies. Produced to world-class standards, the entire GE SHOWBIZ product line is packaged in biodegradable materials.
