Axiomtek Introduces Industrial-Grade Wide Temperature CEM840, COM Express Type 10 Mini Module Powered by Intel® Atom(TM) E3800 Family

Axiomtek, one of the world's leading designers and manufacturers of innovative, high performance and reliable PC-based industrial computer products, has launched CEM840, its COM Express Type 10 mini module powered by Intel® Atom™ E3800 processors (codename: Bay Trail). Measuring only 84 x 55 mm, the CEM840 comes with onboard 4 GB DDR3L memory, quad core, wide voltage, and up to three times more graphical power, and is designed for the extended temperature range from -40°C to +85°C. The mini-sized industrial-grade COM Express module can be widely applied to portable device, IoT (Internet of Things), automation, transportation, military, security, medical, retail and many more.

“The rugged, pocket sized CEM840 with significant Intel® Bay Trail CPU and graphics performance improvements offers flexibility and extensibility for reducing time-to-market. It also supports four lanes of PCIe and rich I/O interfaces for customer specific expansions. With extreme low power consumption and the capability of 4.75V~20V wide range voltage power input, the Computer-on-Modules CEM840 is designed for users looking for a semi-custom and application-specific solution for harsh environments,” said Yifei Wang, product manager of Product Planning Division at Axiomtek. “The outstanding 7th generation Intel® HD graphics engine promotes the single-chip module to deliver faster conversion of video for portable media players, online sharing, and video editing and authoring.”

The rock-solid, low-power and flexible x86 feature set in combination with the small footprint make the new CEM840 a perfect fit for an extremely wide range of ruggedized, graphic-rich applications. Users will benefit from double the performance, significantly improved performance-per-watt ratios, high quality, and the long-term availability which the rugged new x86 module provide. The energy-saving Computer-on-Modules is designed for serial signaling protocols, including one LPC, four PCIe x1, two SATA-300, one Gigabit Ethernet supporting Wake-on-LAN, eight USB 2.0, one USB 3.0, HD audio, 4-in /out Digital I/O, one LVDS (18/ 24-bit single channel), and one DDI port supporting HDMI/DVI/DisplayPort. To ensure reliability and stability, hardware monitoring and Watchdog Timer are supported. For evaluation and development purposes, the CEB94008 carrier board is also available upon request.
