Color 3D Line Scan Camera enhances machine vision quality control.
Press Release Summary:
April 2, 2014 - Employing factory-calibrated stereo engineering, 3DPIXA simultaneously captures 2 images of same object to output color images and 3D altitude data in real-time. Height and shape are calculated using algorithms running on GPU, and line scan technology allows for inspection of moving objects. While compact system option offers resolution of 15 µm/30 µm and line frequency of up to 22 kHz, and 3DPIXA dual system offers resolution of 10 µm and line frequency of up to 50 kHz.

Chromasens 3DPIXA Cameras Add New Dimension to Machine Vision Quality Control
Press release date: March 24, 2014
"Our next generation 3DPIXA fuses high-quality color line scan camera technology with state-of-the-art graphic processors," explained Martin Hund, CEO of Chromasens. "Line scan technology is ideal for the inspection of moving objects, so the 3DPIXA opens the door to an exciting new range of 3D applications that were impossible in the past due to bandwidth limitation, such as the inspection of miniature electronics components; color/shape verification of pharmaceutical and food products; quality control of embossed or coated printed items; and surface inspection of automobiles and natural materials including leather, wood and stone."
Employing factory-calibrated stereo engineering, the Chromasens 3DPIXA simultaneously captures two images of the same object to output both color images and 3D altitude data in real time. Height and shape are calculated using special algorithms running on the very latest GPU (Grapical Processing Unit) designs including the NVidia GTX Titan. With an optical resolution of e.g. 10 µm and a height resolution of up to one micrometer, the camera enables 3D inspection with an unprecedented level of accuracy at high speed.
Chromasens 3DPIXA cameras are available in two different principle designs: a compact system with a resolution of 15µm / 30 µm and a line frequency of up to 22kHz, and the 3DPIXA dual system with a resolution of e.g. 10µm and a line frequency of up to 50kHz, which is suitable for higher resolutions or inspection speeds. The latter variant can inspect at speeds of up to 500mm/s at 10 µm optical resolution.
