Comilion's Collaborative Security Platform Brings President Obama's Cyber-Threat Sharing Vision to Reality

New venture backed by founders of Checkpoint, Imperva, and Trusteer launches world's first fully-decentralized collaborative security platform - providing an answer to both the President's initiative and industry concerns.

TEL AVIV, Israel, – Comilion, a leading provider of innovative enterprise-grade collaborative security solutions, today announced that its newly-launched collaborative security platform is fully in-line with US President Barak Obama's recent executive order, which urges information-sharing between industry and government on cyber-threats.

Signed Friday, February 12, President Obama's executive order [ http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2015/02/13/executive-order-promoting-private-sector-cybersecurity-information-shari demands that industry and government share information on cybersecurity threats "(...) in a manner that protects the privacy and civil liberties of individuals, that preserves business confidentiality, [and that safeguards the information being shared (...)".

The Clear Need for Security Collaboration

The need for such sharing in the ongoing war on cyber-terrorism and cyber-crime is clear. However, until now, this type of cross-industry, cross-sector security collaboration has been severely limited by issues of trust, information quality, data ownership and regulation. Corporations have been hesitant to move past the one-to-one information sharing between trusted colleagues that forms the basis of today's security collaboration. And those who are sharing data are extremely limited by how and what they can legally share. Experts agree that a broader, more structured format is needed to meet today's cyber-challenges.

Comilion enables secure corporate collaboration, providing an answer to both the President's initiative and industry concerns. Developed hand-in-hand with security teams in leading multinationals operating in highly-regulated sectors - including several of the largest US and European banks - Comilion is the world's first collaborative security ecosystem. The company's fully decentralized, peer-to-peer architecture facilitates compliant, cross-industry, relevancy-based sharing and security collaboration in tightly-regulated markets.

Comilion's closed, self-managed communities enable real-time threat identification, mitigation, and joint remediation. Leveraging a customizable rule-based sharing policy, multi-jurisdictional regulation enforcement and privacy-by-design handling - Comilion correlates trends across all vetted community members. Then, the solution intelligently recommends what should be done with shared data, as well as facilitating its exchange.

"President Obama's executive order reflects a growing awareness within governments and the private sector that the need to securely share information about threats is good for all sides," said Kobi Freedman, CEO of Comilion. "Current information-sharing services do not allow effective collaboration on sensitive information in regulated environments. Our technology allows corporations and the government to protect sensitive information and maintain compliance - while still sharing information and working closely to eliminate threats - both between organizations or within the same organization," he continued.

Comilion will announce general availability in the coming months. For a private viewing of the platform, please contact info@comilion.com.
