Economical New CNC Tool and Cutter Grinder

The new, small-footprint ANCA FastGind CNC Tool and Cutter Grinder for high-speed resharpening of tools .35mm to 12mm dia. Offers users the latest CNC grinding technology, from robust mechanicals to the advanced ANCA iGrind software, at an extremely competitive price.

The concept behind FastGrind is to provide the grinding quality and reliability of the ANCA range at an economical cost, according to the company, offering users an extremely favorable price/performance realtionship.

The machine is aggressively priced, compared to the market, at $129,000. "With the FastGrind, we created a way for the tool-making shops to access ANCA technology affordably," said Russell Riddiford, ANCA, Inc. president, "without compromising ANCA quality."

A robust machine, the FastGrind offers very high positioning accuracies in all five mechanical axes plus an additional four software axes. Linear axes are ball screw-driven and the two rotary axes are direct-driven.

Drills, step drills, end mills, burrs, profile tools, routers as well as special tools can be efficiently sharpened with the FastGrind.

The machine uses a double-ended HSK40 wheel spindle providing flexibility and reducing setup time. Maximum wheel diamter is 8". A part probing system is standard with the FatGrind and ANCA iView tool inspection software package optional.

The optional iView includes software, which works seamlessly with the machine operating software, and a camera which mounts easily inside the ANCA grinder. iView has a standard magnification of 300:1, other magnifications can be provided, and the accuracy of the system is 2 micron-more than enough for most tool inspection needs.

iView software generates the ideal shape for standard tool geometries and protracts it over the actual tool image.

All machine axis saddles are made from a single-piece casting resulting in extreme rigidity and reducing vibration during machining. The grinding spindle is also mounted on a single piece casting which ensures machine overall robustness.

A fire supression system, manual steady, and manual hydraulic Schunk chuck are additional options for the FastGrind.
