Agie Ltd. Introduces the Smallest of the Small Footprint Agietron Advance CNC Die-Sinkers

Davidson, NC - Agie Ltd. has added a third Agietron Advance to its line of these highly productive, highly successful CNC die-sinkers. The Agietron Advance 2 was unveiled at an open house June 19-20 at their U.S. manufacturing headquarters in Davidson, NC. Like its predecessors the Advance 4 and Advance 3, The Advance 2 features a small footprint - this completely integrated EDM system fits in a compact 8' x 10' work zone. No external cables or hoses are necessary since everything - filters, electrode magazine, dielectric unit, CNC and generator fit in this space.

The Advance 2 also possesses an entirely new generator, highly rigid c-frame construction which is ideal for this size machine, extra wide guideways for very good worktank accessibility, a high-resolution servo (1/8 micron; 0.000005"), and precision ground ball screws to provide the fastest erosion speed to a specific accuracy, with surface finish down to 0.2 Ra. A 4-position electrode magazine is integrated into the work tank.

The Advance die-sinkers are the first truly "Plug & Play" EDM systems. Upon delivery, all that is required is that the unit be leveled and connected to electrical, water, and air supplies. Start up and production is easily achieved within an hour. The highly flexible user interface reduces programming times to minutes instead of hours by simplifying complex job programming for multi-cavity, planetary, helical shape, deep rib and four-axis erosion. The system provides full erosion path contouring capabilities, a first for a U.S.-made Agie die-sinker.

An Automatic Erosion Programming control makes it easy for users to select erosion technologies by application type, set minimum wear and maximum removal priorities, and get perfect results on the first try. Some of the built-in planetary (orbiting) application technologies on the Advance are: EQUIMODE, circular orbit, 2D vector, 3D vector, continuous rotation, continuous circle or sphere, and contouring. Designed for automation, the Advance optimizes the utilization of available electrodes, allowing interchangeable spare electrodes and re-use of finishing electrodes for semi-finishing and re-use of semi-finishing electrodes for roughing.
