The Imaging Source Announces New Series of 3 Megapixel Cameras

Six months ago, The Imaging Source - an international manufacturer of industrial cameras and software - announced a new line of CMOS cameras for price sensitive applications. As of today, these cameras are available with a 3 megapixel sensor.

The new CMOS cameras ship with a Micron 1/2" rolling shutter CMOS sensor and a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. The cameras are available in color and bayer variants and have a frame rate of up to 10 fps. All cameras ship with robust industrial casing and a C/CS-mount. Optionally, a trigger input is available.

The cameras come with software for both programmers and end-users. Getting started with the cameras is a matter of minutes: Only a few lines of code are required to integrate the cameras into existing software applications. A number of powerful algorithms are available to automatically set up the cameras, thus ensuring maximum image quality, even in changing lighting conditions. The cameras ship with drivers for Windows XP/Visa, the SDK 'IC Imaging Control' and end-user software 'IC Capture'. The latter is a powerful end-user application, which allows all cameras parameters to be set, live video to be displayed, singular images and image sequences to be captured.

About The Imaging Source

The Imaging Source is an international enterprise with branches in USA, Taiwan and Germany, which manufactures hardware and software products for image acquisition, visualization, archiving and analysis. These products are typically deployed in industry, medical systems, science research and security applications.

One of the primary goals of The Imaging Source is to reduce the overall cost of an application: They achieve this by standardizing their products. Thus, they are able to guarantee low prices, simplicity and longevity. The development of The Imaging Source hardware components is driven by 15 years experience in the development of modern software components. This interplay leads to the union of hardware and software components and is the foundation for the drastically reduced integration costs.

The low prices and easy of use of The Imaging Source components allows completely new products to be created. These products typically strive for high quality, while at the same time are highly price sensitive. Consequently, in order to be successful, they require low priced components.
