Warner Wrap Spring Clutch/Brakes Deliver Reliable, Easy-To-Use Motion Control

* Three models available for variety of applications

SOUTH BELOIT, IL, January 31, 2002 - Warner Electric offers a family of wrap spring products for dependable load starting and stopping applications - the Standard CB and Super CB Series clutch/brakes and WSC Series clutches. Made in the United States, Warner's wrap spring clutches and clutch/brakes offer many features, including simple construction, low cost and long, maintenance-free life.

Warner's wrap spring products are ideal for a multitude of demanding applications, such as conveyors, packaging, food processing, material handling and office equipment.

Each Standard CB Series unit is a completely self-contained, packaged clutch/brake assembly, designed to start and stop a load rapidly and accurately without any cumulative error. In fact, at speeds up to 1800 RPM, the CB Series starts and stops loads within ± 1/2 degree per revolution. Five standard sizes have rated static torque ranging from 25 to 2500 lb.in. and 1800 to 300 RPM maximum operating speed.

Standard CB Series clutch/brake combinations are designed for applications requiring incremental starting and stopping of a load, using a continuous rotational input. Features include clockwise or counter-clockwise rotation; an anti-back, anti-overrun feature; 12, 24 or 90 VDC or 115 VAC operation; and an adjustable stop collar with 1, 2 or 4 stops standard. Typical applications include cut-off machines, paper feeds, riveters and strapping machines, in which the material or object is indexed before an operation is performed on it.

Super CB Series

Designed for more severe duty cycles and continuous heavy-duty operation, the Super CB Series is a high performance version of the Standard CB Series-providing up to five times the life with no maintenance. For extended life, each unit contains needle bearings, hardened wear surfaces and a beefier stop collar. Like the Standard CB Series, each Super CB Series unit is a complete, factory-assembled package, ready for installation with a stop position accuracy of ± 1/2 degree per revolution.

Three standard sizes have rated static torque ranging from 250 to 2500 lb.in. and 750 to 300 RPM maximum operating speed. Features include clockwise or counter-clockwise rotation; an anti-back, anti-overrun feature; 12, 24 or 90 VDC or 115 VAC operation; and an adjustable stop collar with 1, 2 or 4 stops standard.

WSC Series

WSC Series clutches provide high torque in a compact, simple design. These mechanically-actuated clutches are available in three models:

* Overrunning/One-Way (Model O) for applications in which the load can overrun the input if its speed exceeds input speed. In the reverse direction, the clutch prevents the load from backing up.

* Start/Coast-To-Stop (Model SS) for applications that require starting and gradual stopping.

* Start/Stop-Single Revolution (Model S) for precise starting and stopping in single-revolution cycling applications.

Five standard sizes have rated static torque ranging from 25 to 2500 lb.in. and 1800 to 300 RPM maximum operating speed. Features include hub or shaft input and multiple stop collars. Over-travel stop and anti-overrun features are also available.
