Cold Saw Designed for High Volume Sawing of Steel Tubes
Pat Mooney Saws is proud to offer Matic 315 CM 1B, a fully automatic circular cold saw designed for high volume sawing of steel tubes. This machine comes standard with an automatic loading system which includes an automatic bundle loader capable of running long production runs.Â
A heavy duty pivoting saw head is gear driven to provide optimal torque.
Design of the material feed system and saw head allow the Matic 315 CM 1B to achieve production rates of up to 1,000 parts per hour. Â
Matic 315 CM 1B is equipped with horizontal vises which clamp the part on both sides of the saw blade to ensure a clean, burr-free cut. Horizontal vises are fixed on both sides of the saw head. Clamping pressure is adjustable so the pressure can be lowered when sawing very thin wall tubes and vise clamping pressure is controlled independently.Â
The material infeed system is equipped with two pressure rollers and are clamped in the material on an angle. Rollers are adjustable based on material size and shape. Each pressure roller is equipped with a pneumatic cylinder and is controlled independently. The amount of pressure applied is adjustable so it can be lowered for thin wall tubes.Â
Material feed system consists of two angled pressure rollers, powered horizontal rollers, an encoder, and material sensor. The two angled pressure rollers are pushed against the material via pneumatic cylinders and ensure the material is clamped on the feed system as material is indexed to the outfeed stop. The pressure roller is located furthest from the saw blade and is equipped with an encoder. Horizontal rollers are powered via a motor to index material to the stop. The material sensor is located just past the pressure roller that is closest to the machine on the infeed side of the roller. The sensor along with encoder help measure trim cut length. Distance from the pressure roller furthest from the saw blade is 17-3/4”. As material approaches the stop, it slows down to ensure it does not stop with too much force.
The Matic 315 CM 1B is equipped with a length stop system with a maximum cut length of 78”. If required, longer stop systems are available.Â

The automatic bundle loader system is a CM belt loader designed to load bundles of tubes automatically up to 20 ft. tubes/bars with a maximum weight 8,800lbs.
