Chromatin Immunoprecipitation Assay uses sintered porous plastics.

Press Release Summary:

Chromatrap® chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) assay, which utilizes BioVyon™ sintered porous plastic material chemically bound to Protein A or Protein G, captures antibody-tagged DNA protein complexes associated with cancers. Manufactured by cGMP processes, regulatory approved BioVyon materials exhibit minimal particle shedding, extractables, and bioburden and are suited for serving range of functions in medical and pharmaceutical sectors.

Porvair Unveils Material Advances at the COMPAMED Exhibition

One of the world’s leading producers of high performance filtration and separation technology will be showcasing its innovative and versatile range of sintered porous plastics at the COMPAMED Exhibition, 12th- 14th November, on stand 8aF08.

Porvair Filtration Group has developed regulatory approved BioVyon™ sintered porous plastic materials which have a wide range of functions in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors. BioVyon™ materials are used in a myriad of diverse applications, including vents used in fluid collection vessels, IV catheters and a variety of syringe and pipette applications and supports in process chromatography columns used in drug synthesis. The applications are limitless, making these products an innovative, reliable and robust choice for medical product development and research & development purposes.

Recent advances to the BioVyon range, by chemically modifying the surfaces of these porous materials, have led to the development of advanced new products. Utilising BioVyon™ material to which Protein A or Protein G has been chemically bound, Porvair has further developed the Chromatrap® product, a novel chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) assay, which captures antibody-tagged DNA-protein complexes associated with cancers.

Manufactured by industry standard cGMP processes, they exhibit very low particle shedding, low extractables and low bioburden, making them ideally suited to critical applications. In addition, Porvair have ISO Class 8 (class 100,000) clean rooms for full or part product assembly.

Porvair’s Market Manager Roy Rigby said: “Porvair and our BioVyon™ materials are becoming well-known names for innovative solutions within the healthcare community. Having a strong understanding of industry standards, Porvair is seen as a good partner for customers either developing new or existing products where porous materials are used. We’re proud to bring BioVyon™ to the COMPAMED Exhibition. These materials are having such wide applications in key processes, helping to advance understanding and reliability in medical, pharmaceutical and life science industries. We’re confident that they are helping to set new standards while aiding organisations in meeting their regulatory obligations.”

Porvair Filtration can be found at COMPAMED Exhibition 12th-14th November, Messe Düsseldorf, stand number 8aF08.
