Chemical Oxygen Demand Analyzer delivers precise measurements.

Press Release Summary:

Able to be used with coulometric titration, Quick COD Analyzer Model HC-607 automatically checks for KMnO4 and calculates sample statistics. Range settings are defined by user, and both method conversion and blank value compensation are automatic. Able to store data for 99 sample determinations, unit facilitates operation via control panel, touch key input, and dialog interface. Secondary differential is provided for detection of titration endpoint for precision measurements.

Original Press Release:

Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) Analyzer

Application

•Â  Coulometric Titration for Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD)

In environmental chemistry, the chemical oxygen demand (COD) test is commonly used to indirectly measure the amount of organic compounds in water. Most applications of COD determine the amount of organic pollutants found in surface water (e.g. lakes and rivers) or wastewater making COD a useful measure of water quality. It is expressed in milligrams per liter (mg/L) also referred to as ppm (parts per million), which indicates the mass of oxygen consumed per liter of solution.

JM Science is proud to announce the Quick COD Analyzer Model HC-607 that provides fast, accurate analyses and is easy to use with coulometric titration. A revision of the electrode material frees the user from performing multiple blank measurements and speeds up and stabilizes measurement operations.

There is greater efficiency and smoother operation from the sliding electrode holder. Electrode mounting and dismounting is simpler, safer and more reliable. The countdown timer notifies the user that oxidation is nearing completion, in addition to a bell signaling completion, releasing the user from attending the process. Colored samples do not present a problem when using coulometric titration. A secondary differential is provided for the detection of the titration endpoint for high precision measurements. The analyzer is easy to use with an easy-to-read control panel, touch key input and dialog interface.

Main functions include: Automatic checks for KMnO4, sensitive and accurate end-point detection; range settings are user defined; automatically calculates sample statistics; data storage for 99 sample determinations; automatic method conversion; upload data to a laptop or PC; automatic blank value compensation and screen display of error messages.
