Charge Mode Accelerometer survives temperatures to 1,300°F.

Press Release Summary:

Featuring 10 ft of integral hard-line cable terminating in LEMO connector, Model EX611A20 is suitable for vibration measurement in gas turbine applications, such as bearing health monitoring, condition monitoring, and structural damage monitoring. Device uses shear mode sensing elements for minimized sensitivity to thermal transients, and includes both ATEX and IECEx approvals. Other applications include commissioning of nuclear power plants.

IMI Sensors Launches New Model Very High Temperature Charge Output Accelerometer

Ideal for Vibration Measurement on Gas Turbines

New Model, EX611A20

Depew, NY -- IMI Sensors, one of the largest manufacturers of industrial vibration monitoring instrumentation, such as accelerometers, vibration transmitters and switches, announced the release of EX611A20 with 10 feet of integral hard-line cable terminating in a LEMO connector.

IMI has developed this new Very High Temperature Charge Mode Accelerometer to be used in various gas turbine applications such as bearing health monitoring, condition monitoring, and structural damages monitoring.  Other applications include commissioning of nuclear power plants.

The new model extends temperature survivability range to 1300 °F (704 °C) in an industrial housing.  The unit comes standard with a 10 foot (3 meter) integral hard-line cable terminating in a LEMO connector, but other cable lengths and terminating connectors are available (2 pin mini MIL).

In addition to warranty, pricing, lead time, as well as height advantage over the competition, the IMI High Temperature Charge Output Accelerometer model EX611A20 also includes ATEX and IECEx approvals that most competing models do not carry.  EX611A20 has another distinct competitive advantage with its sensing geometry featuring shear mode sensing elements versus the compression mode designs.  Shear mode accelerometers are much less sensitive to thermal transients than compression mode sensors.  Since these sensors are designed for extreme temperature environments, this design feature is extremely important for the end user.

IMI offers various differential charge amplifiers available to support the launch of EX611A20, including models 422M182 & 422M183.
