CAN Cards for PCI Bus support up to 4 high-/low-speed channels.

Press Release Summary:

Modularly expandable CAN-IB300/PCI and CAN-IB400/PCI let users connect computer to CAN-system for control applications and perform analysis, configuration, and troubleshooting. While CAN-IB300/PCI is passive card, active CAN-IB400/PCI has 32-bit MCU system that enables intelligent handling and active filtering of messages sent and received on card. Interfaces can be equipped with up to 4 LIN or K-Line interfaces as well as customer-specific interfaces upon request.

Original Press Release:

IXXAT PC/CAN Interface Series Expanded with New PCI Cards

With the CAN-IB300/PCI and CAN-IB400/PCI, HMS offers two new CAN cards for the PCI bus, modularly expandable with up to four CAN interfaces and with an extensive driver and tool suite support.

The IXXAT CAN-IB range is flexible and has a wide variety of uses, both in industrial and automotive applications. It allows users to connect a computer to a CAN-system for control applications and to do analysis, configuration and troubleshooting in a quick and easy way. The new PCI cards expand the CAN-IB range, consisting of PCIe, PCIe-Mini and PCIe-104 cards.

Due to their modular design, the new CAN-IB interfaces can be used in a wide variety of applications. Besides up to four high-speed CAN channels, the low-speed CAN standard is also supported. Furthermore, the interfaces can be equipped with up to four LIN or K-Line interfaces as well as customer-specific interfaces upon request. This flexibility is made possible by the verified and tested concept already used in the PCIe cards – consisting of piggy-back extensions and expansion cards.

Both cards are available in the standard and low-profile format and can optionally be supplied with galvanic decoupling.

While the CAN-IB300/PCI is a cost-efficient passive card, the active CAN-IB400/PCI has a powerful 32-bit micro-controller system which enables intelligent handling and active filtering of the messages to be sent and received on the card. This feature is particularly handy in applications with high demands on data pre-processing.

All CAN-IB cards are supported not only by the IXXAT Windows driver packages (VCI), but also the real-time driver packages (ECI for Linux, RTX, Intime, QNX, VxWorks). Similarly, the IXXAT APIs for CANopen and SAE J1939 support the interfaces. For the analysis of CAN and CAN-FD networks, HMS offers a powerful Windows-based analytical tool with the IXXAT canAnalyser.
