RedSky Technologies Supports Microsoft Lync® with Next Generation 9-1-1 Protocol in E911 Anywhere® Cloud Service

Latest release provides true implementation of NENA i3 NG9-1-1 standards for enterprise 9-1-1 calls

CHICAGO -- RedSky Technologies, Inc., the leading provider of automated E9-1-1 solutions, today announced that Version 6.3.5 of its E911 Anywhere® cloud service supports the i3 implementation by Microsoft Lync®. Microsoft Lync® is the first voice platform to adopt the i3 NG9-1-1 standard whereby the Lync® softphone client requests and holds its location as an object (PIDF-LO). Lync voice clients are now "location aware" and in an emergency they can send out their location object in the SIP signaling stream. "LocationAwareness" is one of the revolutionary aspects of the i3 NG9-1-1 standard. For the first time in a 9-1-1 call, the voice client is sending its location at the same time as the voice call. RedSky has updated its national 9-1-1 call routing service, E911 Anywhere®, to accept the PIDF-LO location object and route the call based on the location of the caller at the time of the call. The E911 Anywhere® service connects to over 6000 Public Safety Answering Points in the USA and in Canada, providing a cost-effective, centralized, cloud service approach for distributed enterprises.

"The Lync® adoption of i3 NG9-1-1 standards is providing a strong boost to NG9-1-1 in the enterprise market," said Nicholas Maier, RedSky's SVP of Marketing and Channels. "Our goal is to keep our cloud services aligned with NG9-1-1 so we can deliver all the benefits of NG9-1-1 to our enterprise customers."

Version 6.3.5 of E911 Anywhere® is generally available now.
