Expanded third party listing includes approval for use with MC Cable in trade sizes of 1 ¼ to 3 inches.

SYRACUSE, NY, – Cooper Crouse-Hinds, a leader in electrical products that provide safety, productivity, innovation, and labor savings in hazardous, industrial, commercial and solar environments, is pleased to announce the expansion of the third party certification of the ACB family of fittings to include MC Cable in trade sizes 1 1/4” to 3”.  This expansion provides contractors the most cost effective solution for terminating large MC Cable in dry location applications. Typically, in the past, the only options for contractors were cumbersome connectors with multiple pieces and parts or an expensive industrial grade fitting.  This expanded third party listing is in addition to the existing certifications with approvals for use with FMC in 3/8” to 4”, AC/MC and MCI-A in 3/8” thru 1 ¼”.

The ACB family of fittings is approved and used for services, feeders and branch circuits for power, lighting, control, and signal circuits and is an ideal solution for contractors. ACB fittings feature a sleek, one-piece, steel tubular design for a compact and aesthetically pleasing installation.  They also include a dual gripping saddle design on the connector to safely secure cable or conduit in place to prevent loosening from vibration for long, dependable service.

“The expansion of our third party certifications of our ACB fittings allows those working on commercial construction and light industrial dry location applications to save both time and money,” said Jack King, commercial marketing manager, Crouse-Hinds division. “That’s because ACB fittings eliminate the need to pull conductors separately and offer ease of installation and greater flexibility. They also meet and exceed UL test requirements, providing end users and contractors with added peace of mind and confidence.”

Available in straight, 45°, and 90° configurations to meet customer requirements, ACB fittings are quickly and easily installation without disassembly and are securely held to the box or enclosure by the locknut provided. They have a zinc electroplated finish for corrosion resistance and also feature a tri-head screw which can be easily tightened using a slotted, Phillips or Robertson screwdriver.  They come standard with an insulated throat that provides a smooth pulling surface that won’t strip cable and are cULus listed, and UL File No. E-19188 certified.

Typical use of the expanded ACB fittings includes terminating metal clad & armored cable at controls centers and panel boards, junction boxes, and enclosures for motor control and electrical distribution equipment.
