Cable Carrier operates at 66 dB.

Press Release Summary:

E4/101 Energy Chain System® is made of high tensile and compressive engineered polymers. Dampening element reduces noise without hindering speed or performance. Beveled edges on glide surface also dampen travel noise, while smooth side plate design ensures carrier's resistance to contaminants. Applications include high-speed material handling S/R systems, gantry robots, cranes, assembly plant and production equipment, and packaging equipment.

The E4/101 "Whispering" Chain System is the Industry's Quietest

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI (December 19, 2002) - igus®, inc., manufacturer of Energy Chain® cable carrier systems, now offers the E4/101 Energy Chain System®. At only 66db, this is the quietest link-chain on the market and is more than 15% quieter than the best tested competition. These carriers are designed
specifically for automated applications where noise is not acceptable, such as the automotive industry, entertainment applications and high-speed, precision instrumentation. As with all other igus Energy Chains® and Tubes, the E4/101 is made of high tensile and compressive strength engineered polymers.

In the past, in order to combat excess noise created by the bend, flex and roll action of the engineered polymer links as they travel along their course, igus developed a "brake" system between the links. The E4/101 has taken this technology to a new level, equipping the outside of the chain with a dampening
element that significantly reduces noise even further, while not hindering the speed or performance of the carrier. Beveled edges on the glide surface also dampen travel noise, and the smooth side plate design ensures the carrier's resistance to contaminants, such as dirt and debris.

igus offers this carrier design in all varieties of the system E4/100 and with variable crossbar selections and bending radii, thousands of configurations are possible. E4/101 carriers can also be combined with igus KMA plastic/metal mounting brackets and Chainfix strain relief if needed.

Applications include high-speed material handling S/R systems, gantry robots, cranes, assembly plant and production equipment, entertainment industry equipment, and packaging equipment, among others.
