New Gortrac® GX-Series Carriers Handle More Cable & Hose with Fewer Parts
NEW BERLIN, Wisconsin--August 12, 2002...A new cable and hose carrier design features a one-piece link design that requires fewer separate parts, yet handles more cables and hoses in the same overall space. The new Gortrac GX-Series carriers feature a corrosion-resistant one-piece metal link design that eliminates the need for screwed-on crossbars. It also incorporates patented half-shear lockouts that eliminate the need for pins, snap rings and similar lockout parts found in other carrier designs.
The simplified design helps extend carrier life and minimizes wear points. It also allows the carrier to have a larger cross-sectional "window" that can handle more cables and hoses. These features make it more cost-effective for aerial lift equipment, machine tools, construction equipment and other OEM applications, where the carriers are used to maintain the proper bend radius of air, hydraulic and electric lines during repetitive motion.
The new carriers are available in four different bend radii ranging from 2.00" to 5.63" and in four different widths from 2.25" to 7.00". All sizes are available with optional poly rollers that help to reduce friction and extend cable and hose life, especially where large or heavy hoses are required. Two cross-sectional configurations are offered, either with a 1/4" O.D. aluminum crossbar at each link or with alternating links that require no crossbar. The latter is a simpler, more cost-effective design that further reduces the number of parts and the overall carrier weight.
