Bomar's Hi-Def BNC Connectors Support Next-Generation Ultra-High Definition Standards

Precision Machined Connectors Offer Low VSWR through 4.5 GHz For the Ultimate in Studio Broadcast Equipment Performance

Ledgewood, NJ, June 9, 2006...Announced today by Bomar Interconnect Products, Inc., is the availability of true 75-ohm BNC connectors boasting low reflection DC to 4.5 GHZ. Designed to optimize the technology of emerging "super HD" broadcast equipment, the miniature quick connect/disconnect RF devices feature an extremely low 1.032 VSWR and return loss of -36 dB at 4.5 GHz. The parts are members of the company's highly acclaimed Specialty Broadcast Connector (SBC and HBC) Series of 75-ohm devices engineered exclusively to satisfy the high-resolution requirements of the professional broadcast industry. These metal body connectors, along with the entire Series, meet or exceed the professional broadcast sector's mechanical, electrical and environmental standards.

Bomar's connectors are ideal for employment by integrators and OEMs in a broad range of next-generation broadcast applications where the ultimate high-definition picture is demanded, and where performance properties must exceed today's 2.5 GHz standard. Among the uses for which the robust BNCs are most appropriate are to terminate RG-6 and RG-59 coaxial cables in professional video, and broadcast video switching.

Devices are made of precision machined brass, and include gold plated contacts to ensure low return loss. They feature a black nickel plated body to easily identify them as high definition connectors, and are provided with insulator material of high density TFE to maintain a perfect dielectric constant. The 75-ohm BNCs' electrical ratings are: 1.026 VSWR, -37 dB return loss at 2.4 GHz; 1.022 VSWR, -39 dB return loss at 3.0 and 4.0 GHz; 1.032 VSWR, -36 dB return loss at 4.5 GHz. Other specifications include a voltage rating of 500 V, insulation resistance of 5,000 Megohms, and cable retention of 60 lbs.
