Black Coated Roller Chains are designed for extended service.

Press Release Summary:

Fulfilling requirements of ISO 606, DIN 8187, and DIN 8188, Everlast Plus series is manufactured with sintered metals that provide extended service life by reducing friction/wear without need for relubrication. Oil-soaked sintered bushes and modified bolt specification improve wear lifespan, and pretension promotes chain's run-in behavior. Available in sizes 06B-16B and ANSI 40-160, chains have protruding track bushing that reduces friction between inner and outer guide plates.

Original Press Release:

Everlast Plus Chains Now with Even Longer Service Life

Indianapolis. iwis drive systems introduces an improved generation of low-maintenance chains of the Everlast Plus series. Thanks to advanced sintered metals the new black coated roller chains have a significantly extended service life.

The improved properties of the Everlast Plus chains result mainly from the improved modern sintered materials from which they are made. The goal in their development was to achieve a major reduction in their friction wear - and a corresponding extension of their wear lifespan - without the need for relubrication and without a marked increase in their production costs. In laboratory tests the chains with the new oil-soaked sintered bushes and a slightly modified bolt specification showed an improvement in wear lifespan of more than 300 percent. To visually distinguish the new Everlast Plus chains from their predecessors, all of their components are coated black.

The Everlast Plus product programme fulfils all requirements of ISO 606, DIN 8187 and DIN 8188. The only change in the chain's geometrical design is the slightly protruding track bushing, which significantly reduces friction between inner and outer guide plates. A carefully applied pretension improves the chain's run-in behaviour. The new chains are available in sizes 06B to 16B and ANSI 40 to 160. An extended range of chains with attachment parts is already being planned and will be available early in 2012.

Besides Elite Everlast Plus chains, iwis' programme for industrial applications comprises timing drive systems, precision and high-performance roller chains, conveyor chains, maintenance-free and corrosion-resistant chains, accumulation chains, special-purpose conveyor chains, chains for agricultural machinery, flyer chains, flat-top chains and modular belts, as well as timing drives for the automotive industry.
