THK Introduces High-Speed, High Axial Load Capacity Ball Screw Type SBKH

Schaumburg, IL – THK’s new Type SBKH Ball Screw reaches speeds of up to 92 m/min while carrying heavy loads. The Type SBKH features the high load carrying capacity of THK’s Type HBN Caged Ball Screw and the high-speed capability of the Type SBK Ball Screw.

The Type SBKH’s re-circulation structure, where balls are picked up in the tangential direction and the lead-angle direction by end caps, makes it suitable for high-speed operation at a DN value of 130,000.

For energy savings, easier maintenance and machine control, and increased positioning accuracy, the Type SBKH is equipped with a motorized drive, rather than a hydraulic drive.

The incorporation of THK Caged Technology further enhances the performance of the SBKH. THK Caged Technology employs a synthetic resin cage with a patented curvature that cradles each ball and separates it from the next one. The spaces between the rolling elements retain grease and act as a lubrication system for long-term maintenance-free operation. Smooth motion is achieved with the SBKH, as the separation of balls eliminates friction and minimizes torque fluctuation. Noise levels are decreased due to the re-circulation structure of the SBKH.

The Type SBKH is available in models with screw shaft diameters ranging from 83mm to 120 mm. The high thrust of this type makes it ideal for use in injection molding machines, pressing machines and more.
