Kaman's New Gageprox Analog Sensors Feature Fixed Gain

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado < August 29, 2002 < Kaman Instrumentation's GageProx is a new product family featuring Kaman's first fixed-gain linear inductive analog circuitry. Kaman has designed their typical high performance into a compact, easy-to-implement system that is ideal for automated assembly and test/inspection applications.

Kaman has incorporated a number of features to maximize the potential uses for the system. Single-ended input and a fixed-gain output are ideal for set-it-and-forget-it applications. DIN rail mounting makes installation effortless. The IP-67-rated non-contact sensors and electronics are designed to be rugged and reliable, ideal for machine shop, industrial or cleanroom environments. There is no need to clean and dry the part being checked; inductive sensors are unaffected by moisture, oils, cleaners, grease, dirt and grime.

Output specifications include offset of 0.25 to 0.50mm, range of 0.63 to 3.00mm, output of 5 to 10Vdc, linearity of ±0.50 to 1.00%, resolution of 0.10 to 0.20%, thermal stability of 0.05 to 0.10%/°C, repeatability of 0.50 to 1.00%, and a response time of 0.20ms. The operating temperature range is 0° to 70°C.

GageProx sensors are available in two sizes, 5mm and 8mm, either shielded or unshielded. The system features a range LED (under range/in range/over range) and a PUR sensor cable. CE compliance is pending.

GageProx is in stock and available immediately from Kaman Instrumentation. Prices start at $695 for single quantities. Kaman Instrumentation, an operating unit of Kaman Aerospace, leads the industry in solving difficult industrial sensing applications when the target cannot be touched.
