Adhesives Research Offers Complete Product Line of Pressure-Sensitive Adhesives for Wireless Device Assembly
GLEN ROCK, Pa. (November 1, 2001) - Adhesives Research, Inc., a leading global developer and manufacturer of high-performance, specialty pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) technology, offers a complete product line for the assembly of wireless communications devices that includes electrically conductive, EMI shielding, Arclean(TM) electronically clean and ARclear (TM) optically clear adhesive tape technology. ARclad® 8314, ARclad® 8901 and ARclad® 7992 are three PSAs from the product line designed for the assembly of mobile phone handsets, pagers, personal digital assistants, global positioning systems, laptops and other wireless communications devices.
ARclad® 8314 and ARclad® 8901 are both 8-mil, double-sided, high-tack acrylic pressure-sensitive bonding tapes. These thicker adhesives provide excellent bond strength to foams, rubbers and low surface energy materials. ARclad® 8314 is supported by a clear polyester carrier film, making it the perfect choice for immediate, destructible bonds, as well as nameplate and most mounting applications. ARclad® 8901 is supported by a black polyester carrier film, making it an excellent tape for dark nameplate and cellular display applications. Both tapes are conformable to curved surfaces and easy to die cut and apply. These two tapes are also weather resistant to natural elements and moisture resistant to humidity and other moist conditions.
ARclad® 7992 is a 5-mil, double-sided acrylic PSA supported by a polyester film appropriate for adhesion to wood, wallboard, ceramic tile, glass, painted surfaces, metals and most plastics. ARclad® 7992 readily adheres to clean surfaces, has excellent aging stability and, with its very thin polyester carrier, conforms easily to curved surfaces. It is weather resistant to natural elements and moisture resistant to humidity and other moist conditions.
