Cytec Introduces Eco-Friendly Acrylic Conformal Coating at Productronica

Innovative conformal coating is based on proprietary acrylic technology and a bio-derived, ecologically-friendly solvent system

Munich, Germany - Cytec Engineered Materials (CEM), a business unit of Cytec Industries Inc. (NYSE: CYT) is introducing its new CONAP® CE-2290 conformal coating at Productronica on November 10-13 at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre. This unique, single-component acrylic system provides customers with a "green" alternative for high-performance application on components and printed circuitry.

CONAP CE-2290 achieves an exceptional level of performance without the use of the petroleum-based or reportable solvents typically contained in conformal coating systems. CONAP CE-2290 is free from Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPS), and the solvent portion of CE-2290 is a US EPA-approved Significant New Alternative Policy (SNAP) composition that is non-carcinogenic, biodegradable and free of ozone depleting solvents. CE-2290 is compliant to EU RoHS regulations.

CE-2290 is a repairable conformal coating that exhibits a tack-free air drying time of five minutes at 25°C and has been successfully applied using dip, spray and selective coating techniques. It displays outstanding dielectric properties and hydrolytic stability and excellent adhesion to both PC boards and electronic components, even under adverse environmental conditions. CEM offers a compatible solvent CONAP® S-290 for use with the CE-2290 system. CE-2290 is MIL-I-46058C and IPC-CC-830B qualified.

CEM's CONAP product family includes high-quality acrylic and polyurethane conformal coatings and polyurethane and epoxy potting, encapsulation and adhesive systems used in aerospace, biomedical, electronics, electrical and automotive applications. Productronica attendees can learn more about CE-2290 and the entire CONAP line of formulated systems at the Cytec Engineered Materials booth located in Hall A4, Stand 217.
