Lattice Technology Releases Updated XVL Converter Products

Support for the latest CAD platforms enhances Ultra Large Data Handling for 3D Design Data

San Francisco, CA.- Lattice Technology® Inc., the standard for technical communication and digital mock up software in the manufacturing enterprise, today released version 7 of its XVL® Converter software products for highly accurate, highly compressed conversion of 3D CAD data into the XVL format.

The XVL Converters are delivered as plug-ins directly into a CAD application, or as stand-alone products that can be initiated from a command line by external application or user interface. They are used to convert almost any kind of 3D CAD and design data into XVL so that it can be easily used for process design, digital mock up, authored into manufacturing documentation, and so on. The XVL format offers the industry's best 3D data compression with no loss of accuracy which means that it can be rapidly used, shared and viewed even on lower specification PCs.

The latest updates now support latest versions of CAD applications such as NXT7, CATIA® V5 R20, Autodesk Inventor® 2011 and SolidWorks® 2010.

XVL Converter Scheduler and Manager, products which enable the batch processing of 3D CAD data conversions into XVL, have also been updated to support these CAD platforms.

"3D design data is becoming much larger and companies are looking to do more with it," said Bill Barnes, General Manager, Lattice Technology, Inc. "XVL delivers a standard format with the industry's best, most accurate compression allowing even the most complex 3D assemblies to be handled easily. Lattice Technology Solutions enable the 3D data to easily be combined with other information such as ERP or MES data, and for highly productive manufacturing process data and technical documentation to be authored. It is therefore key for our current and future customers that we support the latest 3D CAD formats they are using."
