Flex Handle Design Gives New Snap-on® Wrench Access to Engine Oxygen Sensor Assemblies

Specialty Tool Eases O2 Sensor Removal, Installation

KENOSHA, Wis., June 30, 2004 - In response to the limited accessibility of oxygen sensor assemblies in new automotive engine designs, Snap-on Tools Company has introduced the SWR1 Oxygen Sensor Wrench to facilitate the servicing of hard-to-reach sensors.

Featuring a long flex-handle, the SWR1 Oxygen Sensor Wrench is designed to remove and install all 7/8-inch, (22MM) oxygen sensors, but is specifically adapted for accessing the O2 sensors of the 5.4 and 4.6-liter modular engines in a variety of Ford vehicle models, including SUVs, trucks and the Ford Contour automobile. Other applications include some Chrysler minivans with limited clearance against the floorboard. The wrench's high-strength steel construction and compact, low-clearance head ensure enough leverage for work in tight spaces.

By using the SWR1 Oxygen Sensor Wrench, automotive technicians can eliminate the need to loosen or remove other exhaust system components in order to access otherwise unreachable oxygen sensors. In many instances of newer vehicles, the oxygen sensor is positioned upward and inward to the floorboard, significantly reducing its service accessibility.

The SWR1 Oxygen Sensor Wrench features a chrome finish to provide an easy-clean surface and offer protection against corrosion. The wrench's overall length is 10.75 inches, and it features a 7/8-inch hex head with an overall head diameter of 1.5 inches and a slot width of 0.3 inches.

Customers can find out more about the SWR1 Oxygen Sensor Wrench by contacting their local Snap-on representative, visiting http://www.snapon.com or calling toll free 877-SNAPON-2 (877-762-7662).
