December 22, 2003 - Suited for wires and cable with 0.040–0.070 in. dia, PRT-1-ES environmentally sealed tubing combines heat shrinkable polyolefin tubing, hot melt adhesive, and wrap-around functionality. It enables users to repair damaged wires and cables or add abrasion protection to existing cables without removing connector or associated electrical connections.

Los Angeles, CA – Zippertubing is proud to announce the addition of "PRT-1-ES", a revolutionary new environmentally sealed wrap-around heat shrinkable tubing to it's PRT product line. Designed specifically for extremely small diameter wires and cable repair (0.040" to 0.070"), this product combines the advantages of heat shrinkable polyolefin tubing (Mil-I-23053/5), a hot melt adhesive and the convenience of Zippertubing's wrap-around products. This product has excellent abrasion, environmental, chemical and electrical characteristics.
"PRT-1-ES" provides a way to repair damaged wires and cables or to add additional environmentally sealed abrasion protection to existing cables, without removing the connector or associated electrical connections. Installation is easy, simply wrap "PRT-1-ES" around your cable, remove the PSA adhesive liner and adhere, to create a continuous tube. A heat gun is used to recover the material in the same manner as standard non wrap-around, heat shrinkable tubing.
