AB 2010 - Another DVS Debut in DCI - Launch of Fuze

Highlighting its current product portfolio for post production and broadcast at booth SL3305, DVS presents the latest addition to its video systems family: Fuze stars with its Digital Mastering capabilities.

Hanover/Las Vegas. At this year's NAB, from April 12th to the 15th, DVS launches the newest addition to the DVS family: The DCI workstation Fuze will be a valuable asset to any post production company focusing on Digital Cinema.

Kicking-off a new era in DCI Mastering, DVS introduces Fuze for Digital Cinema file-based delivery, including Digital Cinema Packages. The powerful solution is designed to meet the ever-growing demands of professional post production: Fuze handles stereoscopic 3D content just as easily as if it was 2D, creates and encrypts Digital Cinema Packages (DCPs) in high-speed, and provides subtitling up to 2K.

By following the DCI specifications, Fuze creates fast and secure stereoscopic 3DDC Ps. The integrated wizard guides the user through all steps of the stereoscopic DCI Mastering process including interleaving, encoding, encryption, and wrapping into MXF files. DVS's unique hardware accelerator accomplishes this process in real-time.

DVS's latest development Fuze supplies users with a convenient cinema reel editing tool and enables scaling, color space conversion, and even encoding into compressed form ats. Supported Fuze clients can create DCPs at lightning speed and QC the wholeprocess reliably. Moreover, the flexible DCI Mastering solution creates supplemental DCPs and thus offers substantial benefits in terms of structuring and clarity.

Clients generating multimedia deliverables for devices like IPTV, DVD, Blu-ray, mobile phones, multimedia players, content services, web applications and game consoles can count on Fuze's support of mezzanine formats like IMF. Effortlessly handling JPEG 2000 RGB 500 Mbit, Fuze manages the desired versions of commonly-used video formats, audio files, and subtitles. With the functionality of a file-based library, the mezzanine format produces a digital master from which multiple output formats can be created. DVS's new DCI Mastering workstation easily transcodes the required output version from the IMF.

Bernhard Reitz, Head of Product Management at DVS: "With the ever growing demands in the post production business we are launching a system designed for DCI processes and mezzanine workflows. Fuze will assist our clients in firing up their ideas and creativity. The powerful system is characterized by ease of use and equips our clients with maximum flexibility."
