New Active Vibration Isolation Workstation
BOSTON, MA — Kinetic Systems introduces the 8002 Series Active Electronic Vibration Isolation Workstation. Ideal for check-weighing, atomic force microscopes, micro-hardness testers, profilometers, and other sensitive equipment requiring high isolation efficiency, the table dynamically isolates all six translational and rotational modes of vibration. The active feedback control system provides vibration isolation that is superior to that possible with air isolation systems. With an ultra-low natural frequency (<1 Hz), the 8002 Series produces no low-frequency resonance. A precision, microprocessor-controlled, automatic leveling mechanism rapidly adjusts to different loads without user intervention. No air supply is required. For monitoring purposes, the system produces a multiplexed signal that can be used to display vibration levels with and without isolation on an oscilloscope.
Available with a variety of tabletops ranging from 24” x 36” to 60” x 72”, the workstation uses active feedback to provide excellent isolation efficiency beyond 2 Hz (typically 97% at 10 Hz). Up to 500 times stiffer than an air table, the 8002 Series is available with a load capacity of 600 or 1200 lbs. and can easily accommodate high-center-of-gravity or moving loads.
Standard tabletops for the 8002 Series are available with mounting holes and feature a steel topskin with a standard honeycomb core or the proprietary epoxy-bonded steel SPILLPRUF™ honeycomb core that seals entire rows of mounting holes. Optional tabletops can be ferromagnetic stainless steel, composite, or granite.
Customization options for the 8002 Series include shelving, lighting, and keyboard mounts for comfort as well as application-specific convenience. Optional Faraday Cages protect sensitive operations from electromagnetic interference, and tabletop enclosures protect against harsh manufacturing environments. Additional options include oversized keyboard shelves designed to accommodate a mouse, overhead equipment shelves, monitor stands, non-isolated sliding shelves for positioning equipment off the isolated tabletop, electrical outlet strips for lighting and other electrical accessories, guard rails, padded armrests, retractable casters, and many more.
