Workholding Cylinders feature maximum hydraulic sealing.

Press Release Summary:

Hydraulic Swing Cylinders are available in capacities ranging from 300 to 7,600 lbs of force with strokes ranging from 1/2 to 1 7/8 in. They are offered in Buna-N and Polyurethane as well as Viton® for high temperatures or use in severe environments. Treatment on outside of cylinder bodies prevents surface corrosion for extended periods, and stands up to coolant and cutting fluids. Seal enables use of low pressure hydraulics without external leakage.

Original Press Release:

New Technologies Incorporated Into Hydraulic Workholding Cylinders

An expanded, updated line of hydraulic swing cylinders for a variety of workholding applications will be introduced by Enerpac at the International Manufacturing Technology Show in Chicago, Ill. The new series, recognized as the world's most widely used type of workholding cylinder, includes significant modificationis that enhance performance, durability and corrosion resistance. Enerpac's new line of swing cylinders is available in capacities ranging from 300 to 7,600 lbs. of force, with strokes ranging from 1/2 to 1-7/8 inches. They are available in standard Buna-N and Polyurethane as well as Viton® for high temperatures or use in severe environments.

Enerpac's cylinders apply a new sealing technology to improve performance at lower pressures. The new seals provide maximum hydraulic sealing, with very minimal friction. This new style enables the use of lower pressure hydraulics -- typically found as standard equipment on machine tools -- without the problem of external leakage. Additionally, a new, innovative internal and external surface provides improved wear resistance and allows the cylinders to perform even longer in the most challenging applications without the need for seal replacement. The new treatment is also much more resistant to contamination damage from chips and coolants. The treatment on the outside of the cylinder bodies prevents surface corrosion for extended periods, allowing for easy removal and replacement for upgrades and preventive maintenance. This surface coating stands up to coolant and cutting fluids, overshadowing the performance of traditional black oxide coatings.
