Wireless Digital Signage Available from Cables To Go

Connectivity manufacturer continues to bolster wireless family with wireless digital signage solution

Cables To Go (www.cablestogo.com), the preferred provider of high-performance cabling and connectivity solutions, today announced the availability of a wireless digital signage solution that provides synchronized wireless and/or cabled transmission of high resolution signals to multiple displays.

With wireless connectivity, the TruLink® Wireless Digital Signage Distribution System (WDSDS) is ideally suited for installations where running cable is difficult. The ability to mix both wired and wireless connections provides immense flexibility and ease of setup that allows digital signage displays to be placed virtually anywhere.

"The wireless distribution system is a great solution for adding digital signage into an existing building, particularly ones with concrete, brick or other solid walls that make running cable prohibitive," said Gary Hess, vice president of innovation for Lastar, parent company of Cables To Go. "In addition, the wired mode is based on standard Ethernet allowing the system to utilize existing network cabling and equipment."

The WDSDS transmits video and stereo audio signals via 802.11a/g wireless capabilities. The signal from a single source can be transmitted to as many as 32 wireless displays at least 100 feet away. Directional antennas can be added to extend the wireless signal much further. Alternatively, the system can be used in wired mode utilizing standard Cat5/6 cables. This mode can connect as many as 1,000 displays up to 3,000 feet away (repeaters required for maximum distance).

Users can configure their own system by purchasing the number of receivers and transmitters needed for their environment. The transmitters and receivers have DVI-I (integrated) connectors allowing analog (VGA) or digital (DVI or HDMI) connections as well as RCA connectors for stereo audio.

Features of the Wireless Digital Signage Distribution System from Cables To Go include:
  • Distribution and synchronization of video and audio from a single source to 32 wireless displays and 1,000 wired displays.
  • Support for high-resolution signals up to 1280x1024
  • Lip-Sync function to keep video and audio in sync across multiple displays
  • Plug and play with auto-detection to make setup quick and easy
  • Web interface application for easy configuration of transmitters and receivers
  • RF channel selector to allow multiple programs or signals to be transmitted without interference

The TruLink Wireless Digital Signage Distribution System is now available through Cables To Go partners. For more information please visit www.cablestogo.com.
