New Intermec Wireless Portable Printer Eliminates The Cable 781T can receive data from up to 30 feet away

EVERETT, Wash., November 9, 2001 - Intermec Technologies Corp.'s new 781T portable printer is the first to provide wireless/cableless connectivity through the use of a Bluetooth qualified module by Socket Communications. When used in tandem with the Intermec 720 mobile computer equipped with a similar Bluetooth qualified module, also from Socket Communications, the printer can receive data from as far away as 30 feet.

The 781T is a rugged, belt-mounted, 2-inch direct thermal portable printer. Its low power consumption allows users to easily work a normal eight-hour shift without recharging. The printer weighs less than 15 ounces and holds more than 100 feet of receipt paper. Made with resilient high-density polyethylene, it can survive multiple drops of five feet to concrete.

"The 781T's wireless capabilities, exceptional print quality, ruggedness and versatility make it the ideal printer for the delivery market," said Bob Zink, Intermec vice president of solutions sales "Its 30-foot range allows drivers to start printing before they get back to the truck, increasing productivity."

The printer has 203 dots-per-inch resolution print quality to easily handle graphics for logos, text and even bar codes. It comes standard with customer-replaceable lithium ion batteries, IrDA and RS-232 serial communications, and with 4MB flash memory for added performance.

The 781T is the latest in Intermec's line of portable printers, which deliver maximum portability and minimum size, as well as the ability to withstand the rugged conditions of retail, field service and distribution applications.
