Phonex Announces New Wireless Phone Jack Model with Innovative Setup Features and Sleek New Design

The patent protected Easy Jack 2 has security code pre-set at factory and new LED to indicate powerline connection with base.

Salt Lake City, UT - January 3, 2007 -- Phonex(TM) (www.phonex.com), a leading volume provider of voice and data communications over powerline, announced a new Wireless Phone Jack device with innovative setup features and sleek new design. This new design is a fifth generation improvement of the innovative, patent protected Wireless Phone Jack technology offered by Phonex. Easy Jack 2 comes with a preset security code, automatic configuration, and sleek new simple to use design. The Phonex Easy Jack 2 turns any electrical outlet into a CallerID capable phone connection for satellite receivers, digital video recorders, postage-meter machines, dial-up modems and more. Easy Jack 2 (model PX211) is available now through national distributors, satellite installers, retail outlets and the Phonex web site.

"Easy Jack 2 offers the most desirable customer features configured right out of the box," said John Knab, CEO, Phonex. "The base and extension have security codes preset at the factory, so they only communicate with the assigned base or extension. In addition, the extension automatically detects the base, sets up a connection, and indicates the link with a green LED on the extension. These innovative features are a strong step forward for this next generation of Wireless Phone Jack products."

Security codes prevent the base and extension from communicating with other Phonex devices that may be within range. With codes preset from the factory, base and extension within the same box are preset to only communicate with each other using one of more than 65,000 security codes. When more than one extension is desired, a simple touch of a button on the base can transmit the encoded security key to up to 8 total extensions.

Another new feature checks the link between base and extension and illuminates a green LED on the front of the extension. This gives the consumer or installer peace of mind that the device is functioning without physically testing for dial tone. In addition to improved temperature and static resistance, the Easy Jack 2 product design features new markings to easily distinguish between base and extension. The configuration button has also been changed from a pen point button to a simple to use finger button.

Easy Jack 2 (model PX211) is available now through national distributors, satellite installers, retail outlets and the Phonex web site. More information can be found on the web at www.phonex.com or by calling 1-800-437-0101.
