BW Technologies Launches Wireless, Multi-Point Rig Rat III

BW Technologies has taken state-of-the-art detection to another level with the new Rig Rat III stand-alone system. Self-powered and solar-capable, the Rig Rat III provides wireless monitoring for toxic gases, combustibles and oxygen hazards-with maximum efficiency.

The Rig Rat III is suited to dozens of industrial applications, including drilling rigs, HAZMAT and perimeter monitoring. Modular, plug-in ports allow quick installation of all components and field interfaces, so system requirements are easily accommodated as they evolve. Remote sensors, alarms and relays can be added at will. This flexibility extends to power options too-select independent battery, solar or line power at any time.

The Rig Rat III features audible/visual alarms, field-adjustable levels, two sensor ports, two option ports and a charger port. A status-at-a-glance LCD advises all functions and provides continuous readouts for each gas sensed.

Engineered for maximum cost-effectiveness, the Rig Rat III transmits real-time digital data as far as 1.8 miles (3 km). Signal and power line costs are eliminated, and maintenance-free combustible sensors remove the need for time-consuming upkeep requirements.

Self-contained and intrinsically safe, the Rig Rat III is the ultimate in stand-alone detection.
