Original Press Release:

Sennheiser Releases New Award-winning, Premium Century Wired Headset Series with User-Focused Craftsmanship

Old Lyme, Conn. — Sennheiser, a leading provider of premium headset solutions, announced the release of its Century Wired Headset Series for quality conscious enterprises requiring the best in sound quality, wearing comfort and design for demanding professionals.

With its built-in neodymium speakers, the new Century Wired Series offers a superior listening experience for crisp and clear conversations, thanks to Sennheiser voice clarity with wideband sound. The Century Wired Series also comes with an ultra noise-canceling microphone that filters out unwanted background noise.

Crafted with stainless steel and brushed aluminum parts, Century is robust in its design. The unibody headband, which can be adjusted with a number indicator, guarantees maximum strength at stress points while providing a perfect fit. The headset's cables are sheathed with Kevlar, a high quality material five times stronger than steel. In addition, leatherette ear-pads guarantee exceptional wearing comfort.

Century is a winner of the Red Dot Design Award 2013 for product design. The jury commented, “The simple and elegant design of this headset is well-conceived and from every viewpoint is oriented towards comfortable, professional applications."

Century comes in eight variants to suit every type of office worker. SC 630 is a single-sided headset with an easy disconnect plug for use with a desk phone. SC 630 USB CTRL is a single-sided USB headset for use with a softphone and comes with a call control unit. SC 630 USB ML offers the same features as SC 630 USB CTRL but is optimized for Microsoft Lync. All headsets are also available in the dual-sided versions SC 660, SC 660 USB CTRL and SC 660 USB ML. SC 660 USB CTRL and SC 660 USB ML qualify for multimedia purposes as they come with stereo sound. The SC 632 (single-sided) and the SC 662 (dual-sided) are optimized for low impedance devices such as mobile phones, DECT phones and some of the latest IP phones.

The headset integrates the unique and patented ActiveGard technology to protect users from acoustic shock and sudden sound surges. During the course of a day, headset users may be exposed to hazardous incoming noises that can be dangerous to the hearing. ActiveGard technology safeguards users against acoustic shocks on calls whilst enhancing the audio experience.

Tori Seliokas, channel manager, telecommunications of Sennheiser Electronic Corp., said, “We’re proud to have crafted a premium headset that explicitly matches all our customer’s needs. The Sennheiser Century Wired Headset Series combines sound quality, wearing comfort and durability in a sleek and iconic design. That makes Century the perfect tool for the quality-conscious contact center and office professionals.”
