Wire Termination Machine features linear slide table.
December 27, 2001 -
LPT-522 magnet wire termination machine inserts MAG-MATE terminals into coil-wound components found in motors, stators, bobbins, and other magnet wire applications. It is capable of producing up to 600 assemblies per hour, and can perform up to 2 secondary operations such as continuity testing, wrap-off post trim, and tab bending. Machine handles in-line, radial and linear/angularly opposed insertion cavities.

New Magnet Wire Termination Machine Handles Middle to High Production Rates New Platform Makes Secondary Operations Possible
HARRISBURG, Pa., December 12 - Tyco Electronics today unveiled the LPT-522 (linear product terminator) magnet wire termination machine. This new machine is designed to insert Tyco Electronics' MAG-MATE terminals into coil-wound components found in motors, stators, bobbins and other magnet wire applications. The new machine combines the reliability of Tyco Electronics' field proven MPT-5 termination module with the flexibility and productivity of a programmable linear slide table. The machine is capable of producing up to 600 assemblies per hour and can perform up to two secondary operations like continuity testing, special wrap-off post trim, tab bending and other specialized functions. The LPT-522 is suitable for manufacturers of magnet wire coil windings in the appliance, automotive and lighting industries. The new machine is also appropriate for system integrators serving those industries.
The linear slide table precisely positions the coil under the insertion head then rotates the coil to accommodate dual row insertions. Otherwise, the machine is capable of inserting single, dual separate and on-the-fly dual common insertions. It handles in-line, radial and liner/angularly opposed insertion cavities.
The coil holding fixture has a palletized design allowing additional productivity gains and machine up-time since the operator can load one fixture with coils as another fixture with coils is cycled through the machine.
