IDEAL Introduces Next Generation of Popular In-Sureâ„¢ "Push-In" Wire Connectors

SYCAMORE, IL, November 4, 2003 – In a move to enhance the versatility of its popular In-Sure™ Push-In Wire Connector, IDEAL INDUSTRIES, Inc. announced today that it has re-designed the connector so that it now fits any combination of 12-18 AWG stranded copper and 12-20 AWG solid conductors. IDEAL plans to expand the new and improved line to include 5, 6 and 8 port models in addition to its present offering of 2, 3 and 4 port sizes.

Users who will benefit from this versatile, next-generation design include electricians working in residential and light commercial applications, as well as OEMs of lighting products, prefabricated wiring systems and other branch circuit wiring.

A timesaving alternative to traditional twist-on connectors, the IDEAL In-Sure Connector utilizes a push-in design that safely terminates conductors without twisting, an advantage that translates into reduced occurrences of repetitive motion fatigue. Electricians simply glide the wire in and the work is done, improving productivity and perfecting connections. Only a minimal amount of insertion force is required. In-Sure also allows removal of the wire after the connection has been established.

In-Sure Connectors are distinguished by a clear polycarbonate housing that permits visual verification of every connection. Also key to the connector’s success are stainless steel inserts to restrict pullout, an electrolytic tin-plated copper bus system, an integral test port for voltage and continuity testing, and a built-in strip length gauge.

In-Sure connectors are UL Listed 94 V-2, CSA Certified and rated to 600V and 105°C.
