May 14, 2003 - Aluminum window/door systems are offered with Pour-and-Debridge insulation or glass-reinforced, nylon-fiber thermal-break insulation option, which allows combination of paint and anodizing to be used. With nylon-fiber insulation, Kynar® can be used for exterior frame and baked enamel for interior. By increasing amount of glass-reinforced nylon used, customers can increase jamb depth of insulating system using same aluminum extrusion.

Graham Offers a Choice in Thermal Break Systems
San Diego, CA - Graham Architectural Products now offers customers a choice in thermal-break insulation systems for its aluminum window and door systems:
• Pour-and-debridge system, a time-tested performer
• New glass-reinforced nylon fiber thermal break
The new glass-reinforced nylon option offers both paint savings and two-tone flexibility. A combination of paint and anodizing is possible. Paint savings can be realized by applying Kynar® on the exterior frame and less-costly baked enamel on the interior.
Nylon fiber thermal break also offers jamb depth versatility. For example, by increasing the amount of glass-reinforced nylon used, customers can increase the jamb depth of a 1-3/4" insulating system to 2" - using the same aluminum extrusion.
Since the nylon fiber material has a coefficient of thermal expansion, very similar to that of aluminum, the bond between the thermal break and the aluminum extrusions enjoy mechanical integrity through a wide range of temperature fluctuations.
