LitePoint Introduces Next Generation Gigabit Wi-Fi Test System

SUNNYVALE, Calif.,-- LitePoint announced today the release of the LitePoint(®) IQxel160, the newest member of the IQxel(TM) family of Wi-Fi testers.  Designed to handle the highest data rate and bandwidth options of the 802.11ac Wi-Fi specification, this test system was created to help usher in an even faster, more robust generation of "gigabit Wi-Fi" devices that better support the demanding needs of high-resolution video streaming, on-line gaming, and increasing device densities.

"This enhanced version of the IQxel significantly expands the capabilities of LitePoint's 802.11ac test products," said Curtis Schmidek, Vice President of Marketing at LitePoint. "At LitePoint, we work to stay a step ahead of the industry so that our customers are enabled to introduce cutting-edge products as new technologies emerge.  The IQxel160 is a perfect example of this strategy.  With the IQxel160, our customers are better equipped for production-testing of new 160 MHz-capable Wi-Fi products.  Additionally, the IQxel160 offers capabilities that make it an optimal choice for current 80MHz bandwidth 802.11ac implementations."

In addition to support for the full bandwidth of a 160 MHz contiguous 802.11ac channel, the IQxel160 also supports Wi-Fi products that utilize 80+80 MHz non-contiguous channel bonding formats.  Advanced signal processing occurs inside the IQxel160, eliminating the need for an external PC to analyze measurement data.  Additionally, customers can leverage previously written test programs created for other LitePoint Wi-Fi products, or use LitePoint's turn-key IQfact+(TM) software that has been optimized for well over one hundred Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chipset solutions.

For device manufacturers looking to increase factory throughput or implement greater capabilities in their systems, the IQxel160 can be utilized to:

1. Test two 80 MHz, 802.11ac devices in parallel, doubling the throughput compared to a single tester, and resulting in lower test costs.
2. Test an 80 MHz, 2x2 MIMO device with a single test system using True MIMO techniques to ensure the highest level of MIMO system performance, but without the cost and complexity of multiple test systems.

The IQxel160 can also be utilized for testing 802.11a/b/g/n/p as well as Bluetooth 1.0, 2.1, 3.0 and 4.0 (Low Energy) equipped devices.

Availability
The LitePoint IQxel160 and support for 802.11ac chipsets within IQfact+ is available today.
