Rugged, Maneuverable All-Purpose Running Gear Now Available for Bobcat® and Trailblazer® Welder Generators

o Optional Never Flat(TM) tires pay for themselves in just one saved service call

o Easiest running gear to push over any surface

Appleton, Wis., March 24, 2008-Miller Electric Mfg. Co. today introduced new All-Purpose Running Gear for its Bobcat® and Trailblazer® welding generators. The new running gear features an extended wheelbase, extra-heavy-duty front casters and 1-in.-diameter axles for increased ruggedness and maneuverability over a variety of terrains. Optional Never-Flat Tires eliminate a potential source of costly job downtime, and can pay for themselves with the cost of one saved service call.

"Of all the designs we tested, the new All-Purpose Running Gear is the most rugged and by far the easiest to maneuver over all the terrains it's likely to encounter," says John Leisner, product manager, Miller Electric Mfg. Co. "We tested it in mud, large and small gravel, asphalt, dirt, railroad tracks and other terrains, and it out-performed all the others. "

The extra-heavy duty caster wheels are large enough to not get caught up in difficult terrain and keep most of the weight on the large tires, which makes the gear more maneuverable. A heavy duty, one-inch axle on the large tires is designed to withstand repeated loading and unloading by a crane without damage.

Never Flat(TM) Tires
For increased productivity and durability, Miller offers optional Never Flat(TM) tires for the All Purpose Running Gear. Unlike pneumatic tires, Never Flat tires maintain a constant tire pressure and, because they are foam filled, are immune from punctures. Unlike other foam-filled tires, Never Flat tires will not develop flat spots after sitting for extended periods of time and remain easy to roll, even when weighted down with heavy welding cables.

"If a running gear's tire goes flat or has low tire pressure, it's the same as having a broken welder generator, and the costs can add up quickly," says Leisner. "You pay for the time to find the mechanic, the time for him to repair or replace the tire, the cost of the parts, and, unless you have a mechanic on site, for travel time. All the while, your welder is sitting idle. The cost of a typical service call is $72 per hour. The cost of the optional Never Flat Tires ($150 list price) is made up for by the cost of just one service call. It is one of the best investments you can make."

The All-Purpose Running Gear is available for Miller Legend 302, Bobcat and Trailblazers. They are available with or without a protective cage, which is designed to protect your investment and adds convenience with retractable weld cable holders.
