Weighing System exchanges information on network.
May 1, 2002 - ISP Momentum Weighing Module provides direct, load-cell interface. Module can be used with Modbus Plus, Modbus TCP/IP, Profibus, or with any M1 CPU processors. It can be used as distributed I/O module to stand-alone control system without use of PLC processors. Digitizer interfaces with up to 8 load cells to give one weighing measure. It has 4 inputs (tare, reset tare, zero, print) and 2 high-speed outputs with 1 ms resolution.

Schneider Automation's Industrial Applications Team Launches Versatile New Momentum-Based Weighing I/O Module
RALEIGH, NC - April 5, 2002 - The Industrial Applications Team (IAT), a division of Schneider Automation, Inc. and Schneider Electric, introduces the new ISP Momentum Weighing Module. It is a stand-alone weighing system-PLC that provides direct load cell interface. The ISP Momentum module gives manufacturers unequaled flexibility. The improved module can be used with Modbus Plus, Modbus TCP/IP, Profibus or with any of the M1 CPU processors. This weighing module can be used in a wide variety of system configurations, from being a distributed I/O module to a stand-alone control system without having to use a PLC processor.
The Momentum ISP Weighing Module is a digitizer that interfaces with as many as 8 load cells to give one weighing measure. It can work as a stand-alone device or with one top hat and has four inputs (tare, reset tare, zero, print) and two high speed outputs (1 ms resolution). A ring adapter card is part of the Momentum weighing system. It has a serial port (for setting the parameters of the system with the software ISP Mom), a serial printer port and a Magelis XBT connector port (no programming necessary TSXXBTH200).
The Momentum weighing module can exchange weighing information on the network, using 32 read and writes registers. A user can calibrate weight and define all the weighing parameters just by reading and writing registers from a PLC or HMI or just by using the configuration software ISP Mom. A user can Tare, set Zero, or calibrate from a Magelis, a Quantum or a laptop.
The ISP Momentum Weighing Module uses ISP Mom software, a user-friendly software that defines the parameters that set units, scale division and others. The software also performs the calibration of the weighing module. This software interfaces with the module by using the serial port from the weighing base, or via a Modbus Plus or Modbus TCP/IP top hat.
The new ISP Momentum Weighing Module is the centerpiece of Schneider Automation's Weighing PAK, a complete weighing system solution. Modems, fiber connectors and drives arrive at the end user site, set up and ready to run, eliminating questions about integration in the field. Applications such as the control of a conveyor are perfect targets for this package solution. In addition, libraries of weighing-based function blocks are now available. With more than 20,000 scales installed worldwide, Schneider offers a powerful combination of experience and technology for any manufacturer who employs a weighing system in their process.
Customers who maintained their own PLC systems ran into interface complexities when they were required to utilize scale weights in their PLC's logic. The Momentum Weighing Module is a unique solution to these issues. It seamlessly integrates full scale digitizer functionality with PLCs. The Weighing Module data is in the PLC and therefore "GLOBAL" to all PLC's and HMI's. The user has access to their weighing system from all the different devices on their network.
