Bloxx Strengthens Leading Third-Generation Web Content Filtering Solution

Bloxx releases Tru-View Technology Version 5.0

Bloxx, the enterprise web filtering company, today announced the release of its latest version of its Tru-View Technology web filtering appliance v.5.0. The appliance range now includes enhanced protection against secure anonymous proxies and improved real-time monitoring and reporting. In addition, the appliances now incorporate the Internet Watch Foundation's database feed of illegal sites as standard. Bloxx are demonstrating v5.0 at the Infosecurity show in Earls Court on the 28th-30th April, stand S70.

"We are continually developing the capability of our web filtering appliance and these latest enhancements will allow IT managers to address emerging threats, especially encrypted anonymous proxies," said Bloxx Chief Executive Officer, Eamonn Doyle. "These enhancements deliver additional benefits to ensure that IT managers are able to spend significantly less time managing web filtering. This combined with our no cost-per-user pricing model and the real-time analyses and identification capability of Tru-View Technology, provides unsurpassed levels of customer value."

The Bloxx web filtering appliance already provides unrivalled levels of identification and blocking of the vast majority of anonymous proxies, which are a major source of concern for many IT managers in schools and colleges. With an increasing number of these sites now being accessed using encrypted connections via HTTPS, the latest version of Tru-View Technology is now also able to identify and block these in real-time. This will deliver enhanced protection against anonymous proxies and allow IT managers to continue to provide a secure environment.

Integrated reporting, which is included as standard with every appliance and includes over 120 different types of reports on Internet activity, has been enhanced with quick reports that will deliver detailed and informative reports in an instant. The quick reporting capability covers reports that are most frequently accessed by IT managers and provides rapid insights into user activity to enable quick resolution of potential problems.

Additional real-time insights into Internet activity is now also available through a dashboard which provides a quick and intuitive overview of an organisation's activity and in-depth statistical information regarding sites that have been blocked or allowed.

The appliance now also includes the Internet Watch Foundation database feed which blocks access to websites breaching the Protection of Children Act 1978. The IWF was established in 1996 by the UK internet industry to provide the UK Internet Hotline for the public and IT professionals to report potentially illegal online content within its remit and to be the notice and take-down body for this content.

About Bloxx Tru-View Technology

Bloxx Tru-View Technology uses internationally patent pending technology to analyse and categorise web pages quicker and more accurately than other web filters which use manual URL classification and keyword scoring alone.

Using advanced intelligent identification and analysis techniques, Tru-View Technology provides instant classification of web content as soon as it is accessed, even if the content has not been seen by anyone before.

Bloxx Tru-View Technology helps organisations proactively manage users' access to web content which might lower productivity, expose the organisation to risk and liability or pose a network security threat.

An estimated 1.5 million users already benefit from enhanced security and performance with low administration and no cost per user charges. Additional protection is provided via anti-virus, anti-spyware and anti-phishing functionality.
