Original Press Release:

New Radome Enclosure Enhances Antenna Usage

ST. LOUIS, Missouri, December 14, 2007 - ETS-Lindgren unveiled a new antenna radome enclosure at the 2007 Annual Meeting and Symposium of the Antenna Measurement and Techniques Association. The radome enclosure offers a weatherproof environment for ETS-Lindgren's popular line of horn antennas, providing critical protection during use in harsh environments.

"We designed this line of radome enclosures using vacuum formed Kydex material," noted Dr. Vince Rodriguez, ETS-Lindgren's Senior Principal Antenna Design Engineer. He added, "This material is ideal for the application. It provides excellent UV stability and UL standard 94 V-0 flammability resistance." As a technical benefit, the relative dielectric constant changes from 2.46 at 800 MHz to 2.70 at 20 GHz. The loss tangent is also low, from 0.023 at 800 MHz to 0.0087 at 20 GHz.

The antenna radome enclosures are available for horn antenna Models 3115 through 3117, Models 3160-05 through 3160-10 and the newest horn antenna, Model 3164-05. A variety of mounting brackets is available along with a standard mounting plate. Feed through connectors are also provided, while customized options are available to meet specific user requirements.
