ARINC DirectSM Offers New Global Weather Radar Service for EPIC Cockpits

Annapolis, Maryland, USA, September 24, 2007-ARINC Direct today announced an entirely new graphical weather radar service for business jet operators. The new Expanded Weather RadarSM service is available immediately, and includes first-time coverage of major world regions where aviation weather radar data has not previously been available.

Expanded Weather Radar is offered to ARINC Direct customers operating business aircraft equipped with the new Honeywell EpicTM avionics. The initial geographic coverage of includes Australia, Europe, and North America.

"Expanded Weather Radar is a breakthrough for aviation, offering exclusive worldwide weather data that has never been readily available before to any operators, " stated Bob Richard, ARINC Direct Senior Director. "We have worked hard to establish relationships with specialists and weather service providers to obtain reliable radar data for planning and presentation in the cockpit."

Expanded Weather Radar offers more than greatly expanded geographic coverage. It also improves on conventional weather radar by providing accurate overlays of the true local radar coverage. This outline feature allows pilots to identify parts of a flight path where severe weather might develop without being detected by ground radar.

ARINC's Expanded Weather Radar has been under test by a select group of customers since May. In addition to the Continental U.S., it now includes coverage for Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, Puerto Rico, Western Europe, Australia, Japan, Korea, and Guam.
By the end of 2007, ARINC Direct expects to phase in additional coverage in East Asia including Malaysia, China, and Taiwan.

Expanded Weather Radar has been added to the standard ARINC Direct flight service portfolio, and is now available at no extra cost (other than standard transmission charges) to customers who subscribe to ARINC's graphical cockpit weather service. That service currently provides World Wide Winds Aloft, Satellite, and Continental U.S. Radar.

The Honeywell Epic glass cockpit, introduced in 2002, includes a large-scale color display screen that is well-suited to the level of detail in graphical weather imagery. It has become standard equipment on many of today's largest and most advanced business jets, and is also a popular avionics retrofit.
