Leetsdale, PA - Schroeder Industries, a recognized leader in filtration and fluid conditioning products, introduces its WQF5 Water Service Filter for applications that include mining.
Filtration in mining applications is critical. Unplanned, unnecessary downtime costs money. The mining environment is one of the most demanding environments for fluid power machinery. It requires machines that will last, without failure and with limited scheduled maintanence. This means that every system must be protected to the appropriate specification from contamination entering the system from all points of ingression.
Schroeder's WQF5, a medium pressure, 300 gpm filter, is designed to eliminate contamination in the water used to make invert emulsions like 95/5 fluids often used in underground mining applications. The WQF5 is a Q size housing that is nickel-plated for service in water applications, and features a 40 lb bypass spring. The WQF5 is offered with Schroeder's Excellement® Z-Media(TM) ranging from 25 to 1 micron and Metal Mesh Media in 60 and 150 micron. To ensure that contamination is not permitted to bypass the filter element, the WQF5 is equipped with several options of Stainless Steel Dirt Alarms® that can accurately define when the filter is approaching the bypass differential pressure.
