New Ultra Low Profile Miniature Watch Crystal From Fox Is Lowest Profile Standard Unit Available For Real Time Clock Applications

Fort Myers, FL, April 2002- Fox Electronics has released a miniature watch crystal that measures just 7.0 mm x 1.5 mm with an extremely low profile of 1.4 mm, making it the lowest profile standard watch crystal currently available on the market for real time clock (RTC) applications. The FSX327 crystal is an extremely cost-effective alternative to custom miniature, low profile watch crystals used in space-confined RTC applications.

With a frequency of 32.768 kHz, the new FSX327 is optimized for a 12.5 pF load capacitance. Frequency tolerance is -20 to +20 PPM at 25°C (77°F) and frequency stability is -0.03±0.01 PPM over -40°C to +85°C (-40°F to 185°F). Turnover temperature range is +20°C to +30°C (68°F to 86°F); operating temperature is -40°C to +85°C (-40°F to 185°F); and storage temperature is -55°C to +125°C (-67°F to 257°F). Minimum insulation resistance is 500 MD at 100 VDC and maximum equivalent series resistance is 65 kOhm.

The FSX327 crystal is available in a 3,000-unit tape and reel for automatic assembly systems.

Pricing for the FSX327 crystal begins at $0.52 in quantities of 3,000. Delivery is stock to 8 weeks ARO.
