Based on InGaN die technology, Cotco's WR1 Series is offered in both 5 mm and surface mount packages with 15, 25, 50, and 120° viewing angles, and luminous intensities up to 12,000 mcd. Phosphor mixing technique achieves warm white tone with consistent color temperature of 3,000 K for thru hole devices and 3,200 K for SMT packages. General-lighting LEDs target applications in reading lights, mood lighting, display cabinets, and car interior lighting.

Cotco's New Warm White LEDs Attain Consistent Color Temperature Results
Latham, New York: Marktech Optoelectronics today announced the availability of Cotco's new WR1 series, to its broad line-up of high performance LEDs. The new warm white WR1 series combines familiar LED benefits such as long life, small die size and rugged design with a pleasant warm color. This series is offered in both 5mm and Surface Mount package styles. Used wherever specialty lighting is needed, these versatile, general-lighting LEDs open up new applications in reading lights, mood lighting, display cabinets and car interior lighting.
Cotco warm white LEDs deliver superior color rendering and color temperature previously associated only with incandescent and halogen lamps. This is achieved by changing the product's converter mix. White light is normally produced when a blue chip is combined with a yellow converter phosphor. By adding a red converter phosphor, a warmer white tone is achieved. Cotco has perfected this phosphor mixing technique to achieve a consistent typical color temperature of 3000K for Thru Hole devices and 3200K for SMT packages. Cotco warm white LEDs make an entire new world of lighting applications possible.
