New Dimas Wall Saw Offers High Power-to-Weight Ratio

OLATHE, Kan. - A powerful addition to the Dimas line of wall saws, the new WS 355 wall saw system offers a high power-to-weight ratio, remote operation and several performance-enhancing features.

With components constructed of heavy-duty, yet lightweight, magnesium and titanium, the WS 355 delivers one of the highest power-to-weight ratios on the market. The saw unit weighs only 64 pounds making it easier to handle and position, while the power pack provides up to 33.5-horsepower at the bladeshaft.

To simplify use and maximize operator safety, the WS 355 comes standard with an electronic remote control, allowing the operator to control and monitor all sawing functions, including the power pack, from safer distances.

The WS 355 includes many performance-enhancing features to accommodate a wide-variety of job site challenges. A unique load-sensing travel motor automatically adjusts feed rates while sawing through tough materials, such as reinforced concrete. Additionally, a blade RPM control valve simplifies switching between the three available spindle speeds (630, 1,000 and 1,400 RPMs), allowing for optimum blade rotation and torque. The symmetrical track allows for cutting on either side of the track, while the self-leveling blade guard provides maximum coverage during the cut.

If the blade becomes jammed, the maintenance-free safety clutch engages to protect the wall-sawing system. This feature increases saw and blade life. Water delivery through the blade flange ensures effective cooling of the saw blade while reducing overall water consumption.

Specifically designed for the WS 355 wall saw, the PP 355 E electric power pack drives all saw functions. This processor-controlled, hydraulic power pack offers an upright, compact design with pneumatic tires and a low center of gravity for easy transportation and setup. TWD independent pump systems control blade rotation, carriage travel and feed, while a phase-indicator starting switch ensures proper pump rotation. Adjustable flow and pressure is available to power additional on-site hydraulic tools.

In order to accommodate a wide variety of applications, wall-saw blades are available in 18- through 60-inch diameters with several different performance configurations. All blades are designed for wet cutting and come standard with sandwich segments to provide better tracking and side clearance. The WS 355 is standard with 1-inch arbors and machined to fit the 360 flush-cut flanges. Additional arbor sizes and flush-cut patterns are available upon request.

Dimas, a division of the Electrolux Group, develops and manufactures equipment and blades for the heavy construction market - offering solutions for wall and road sawing, drilling, grinding and grooving.
