Savanna.NETŪ Version 2.0 Demonstrations at ProMat

Come see this flexible, modular WMS's functionality in person

Monday, December 15, 2008

YORK, PA. - Westfalia Technologies, Inc. will be demonstrating their new Savanna.NETŪ Version 2.0 Warehouse Management System (WMS) at ProMat 2009. Every two hours starting at 10 am on Monday, January 12 through Wednesday, January 14th there will be a 15 minute demonstration of Savanna.NETŪ's capabilities for managing and controlling both conventional and automated warehousing systems.

Westfalia's 2.0 release improves upon prior versions of the application by incorporating additional features, while also improving the speed and stability of the product. Savanna.NETŪ Version 2.0 also has a new, more robust user error handling system, and it supports both Oracle and SQL Server database platforms. This new version brings further functionality to Westfalia's modular WMS.

Also included in Version 2.0 is support for the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP). LDAP is a commonly used protocol that allows Savanna.NET to query directory service information from an LDAP configured server. It is used to look up encryption certificates, pointers to printers and other services on a network, and provide "single signon" where one password for a user is shared between many services. For example, domain credentials can be validated against the LDAP authentication server so that users do not have to provide this information a second time when logging into Savanna.NET.

Savanna.NETŪ Version 2.0 has been designed using Version 3.5 of the Microsoft .NET Framework, therefore it can readily operate under all customary Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems so that all existing technology/hardware and hardware/software interfaces can remain in full use. In addition, the open .NET architecture allows linkup of logistical data registration and processing via Web surface-based (XML) platforms. Westfalia is a certified Microsoft Gold Partner, and Savanna.NETŪ Version 2.0 a Microsoft certified product.

Savanna.NETŪ Version 2.0's modular design allows companies to choose only those functions they need now, while leaving the option to add to and expand their WMS as their future needs demand. It gives any size company the ability to gain the 30% efficiency and speeds typical in warehouses with a WMS, while at the same time move from fully conventional to fully-automated warehouses in small steps.
