Voice Coil Stages feature submicron positioning.
July 12, 2007 -
Providing 150 nm positioning resolution, VCS-10H Series offers 10 mm travel and can be used as horizontal or vertical axis. Integrated noncontact optical and/or digital position feedback sensor enables 200 nm repeatability. Measuring 1.3 x 3.0 x 1.25 in., voice coil stages use ▒12 Vdc to ▒24 Vdc and can be supplied with single-axis DC motor controller and amplifier. Cleanroom compatible, cross roller stages are rated at 1.5 lb continuous force and 3 lb peak for 10 sec.

High Speed, Sub-micron Positioning, Voice Coil Stages
Sunnyvale, CA, - Sub-micron, 150 nanometer (5.91 10-6 in.) positioning resolution, voice coil stages are compact, can be used as a horizontal or vertical axis, and are low cost. The high speed, 10 mm (0.394 in.) travel, Equipment Solutions', VCS-10H Voice Coil Stage features an integrated non-contact optical and/or digital position feedback sensor for 200 nanometer (7.87 10-6 in.) repeatability. The low moving mass, voice coil stage is ideal for: Optical focusing and testing, scanning microscopy, medical, semiconductor, circuit board assembly, and micro manufacturing and machining applications.
The compact 33.0 mm x 76.0 mm x 31.8 mm (1.3 in. x 3.0 in. x 1.25 in.), low mass, voice coil stage uses ▒ 12 VDC to ▒ 24 VDC. The stages can be supplied with a high performance single axis DC motor controller and amplifier that were developed for applications requiring high temporal and spatial servo precision. The low inertia cross roller stage is rated at 6.7 N (1.5 lbs.) continuous force and 13.35 N (3 lbs.) peak for 10 seconds and is cleanroom compatible. For easy integration into a new or existing application the VCS-10H Voice Coil Stage has multiple sets of mounting holes on several surfaces.
